Electrodes for hydrochloric acid electrolysis

Increases efficiency and reduces operating costs in the hydrochloric acid electrolysis process.
 
De Nora, with its partners (tk Nucera and Covestro), developed and industrialized an innovative technology for the electrolysis of hydrochloric acid, which has the ability to generate a high level of energy savings (about `30%). This technology combines metallic bipolar membrane cells with Oxygen Depolarized Cathode (ODC) technology.  
 
For producers to achieve these goals- high efficiency, cost savings and high purity outputs- we provide them with the anodic and cathodic coatings, the metallic bipolar membrane elements, as well as the ODCs. To date, De Nora has produced over 45,000 m² of bi-polar metallic elements with anodic and cathodic coatings, and over 25,000 m² of ODCs for customers globally. 
 
To further reduce total operating costs, we offer customers maintenance and recoating services for bipolar metal elements, which, thanks to our global presence, we are able to perform with minimal delivery times, thus reducing production downtime.
