De Nora wins the “Innovation award” at SMAU 2025

The Group confirms its position as a pioneer in technological innovation and process digitalization: project for the use of an AI Agent for supplier qualification awarded.

Milan, 6th November 2025 – Industrie De Nora S.p.A., Italian multinational listed on Euronext Milan, specialized in the electrochemical industry and leader in sustainable technologies and in the emerging green hydrogen industry, won the “Innovation Award” at SMAU Milano 2025, Italy's leading trade fair for digitalization and technology, which took place in Milan on the 5th and 6th November

The award is a tangible recognition of De Nora's ability to develop concrete projects and initiatives in terms of innovation and digitalization, which are capable of generating a positive impact in optimizing business processes.

The “AI Agent for Supplier Qualification” project has been recognized as a virtuous example of innovation. As part of a broader plan to digitalize business processes, it introduces an artificial intelligence system designed to optimize supplier qualification activities, thereby reducing time and workload. The AI Agent supports business functions in the procurement area, simplifying analysis and improving overall productivity. Acting as a true digital co-pilot for Buyers, the chatbot verifies the completeness of critical information, assigns a qualification score that also considers sustainability risks, and guides the user step by step through real-time notifications, offering a smooth and intuitive experience thanks to its conversational interface.

Deriving from an internal initiative in collaboration between the Innovation team, the Procurement department, and an external partner, the project accelerates the digital transformation and promotes more agile and transparent partnerships between De Nora and its suppliers. This best-case study is an example of how De Nora aims to manage its innovation activities, starting from specific business needs and experimenting with solutions in an agile manner, while activating collaborations with qualified partners as necessary. Participating at SMAU was a privileged opportunity for De Nora to showcase its cross-cutting commitment to innovation, addressing three key perspectives: artificial intelligence, solutions for the energy challenge, HR, and innovation culture.

Among the main participants in the events, De Nora participated in three working groups on the topics mentioned above, presenting the best practices adopted by the Group, and met with numerous startups and players in the innovation ecosystem, aiming to explore new potential partnerships and Proof of Concept.
