Milan, October 9, 2025 – Industrie De Nora, an Italian multinational listed on Euronext Milan, specialized in the electrochemical industry and leader in sustainable technologies and in the green hydrogen industry, organized the 14th edition of its R&D Symposium at the Italian Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025, of which De Nora is a sponsor.
A landmark event for the international scientific community, De Nora’s Symposium continues to be a strategic opportunity to promote dialogue between research, industry, and institutions, with the aim of addressing major global challenges through technological innovation.
The event, named “Electrochemistry for a Sustainable Future,” took place as part of Expo 2025's “SDGs + Beyond: Future Society for Life” theme week and brought together leading figures from academia, research, and industry, including De Nora researchers from R&D laboratories in Europe, the United States, and Japan.
The Symposium thus confirms its role as a true driver of innovation, capable of strengthening the global scientific network and accelerating technological progress in the field of electrochemistry.
Numerous ideas also emerged during the 2025 edition, with the prospect of launching new research projects and promoting the creation of international consortiums between industry and universities. Among the reference models already in place are Water Europe in Europe and the National Alliance for Water Innovation (NAWI) in the United States.
Specifically, the afternoon began with presentations by Paolo Dellachà, CEO of Industrie De Nora, and Christian Urgeghe, Chief Technology Officer of De Nora, who introduced the company to the audience. The program then featured presentations by representatives of De Nora's research and development teams in Italy, Japan, and the United States, as well as contributions from Japanese university professors and industrial partners. The following personalities were involved: Mr. Toshikazu Hayashida (Senior Scientist, R&D Japan, De Nora), Dr. Naoki Shida (Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Life Science, Yokohama National University), Dr. Namal Wanninayak (Senior Scientist, R&D US, De Nora), Dr. Yuki Orikasa (Professor, Department of Applied Chemistry, College of Life Sciences, Ritsumeikan University), Dr. Alessandro Fiorucci (Engineering Director, Italy, De Nora), Naoya Matsuda (Manager, Research Department, JX Advanced Metals Research Institute for Technology & Strategy Co., Ltd), Dr. Gianluigi Serianni (Expert for Science, Technology and Innovation, Embassy of Italy in Japan), Mr. Daigoro Senoh (Director & Corporate Counselor, De Nora Permelec Ltd).
