De Nora Advanced Oxidation Processes combine Capital Controls® ozone or SENTINEL® and Rayox® UV systems with hydrogen peroxide to generate hydroxyl radicals, one of the strongest oxidants available for water treatment.
These radicals react rapidly with organic contaminants, breaking them down into simpler, less harmful compounds that can be removed through downstream treatment.
This approach is ideal for contaminants that conventional oxidation technologies struggle to treat.
Systems supplied by De Nora are engineered for reliability, safety and performance across municipal and industrial applications, including potable water, reuse, groundwater remediation and industrial wastewater.
AOP treatments can be delivered through two primary pathways:
Ozone is combined with hydrogen peroxide to generate hydroxyl radicals. Capital Controls® ozone systems use reliable gas feed, generation and contacting equipment to support high mass-transfer efficiency, strong oxidation rates and safe operation.
UV-based AOP
Medium-pressure SENTINEL® or Rayox® UV systems, activate hydrogen peroxide to form hydroxyl radicals and also provide direct photolysis for contaminants that absorb UV light. Automated controls, quartz-sleeve lamp housings and patented cleaning mechanisms support consistent UV delivery.
Both pathways are supported by De Nora’s pilot systems, monitoring technologies and application expertise, ensuring the correct AOP strategy for each water treatment challenge.

GENERATION OF HYDROXYL RADICALS
Combining Capital Controls® ozone, Sentinel® UV or Rayox® UV systems with hydrogen peroxide produces hydroxyl radicals that rapidly break down recalcitrant contaminants.
