The CECHLO® 3 compartment cell electrolyzer is derived from the well-established CECHLO® -MS technology for sodium hypochlorite generation, with the additional installation of a middle chamber between the anionic and cationic separation membranes.
Thanks to the proven and reliable performances of the original membrane cell technology developed by ThyssenKrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers (Japan) Ltd. and the new, original concept, the CECHLO® 3 compartment cell electrolyzer offers a cost effective and efficient answer to industrial process requiring innovative solutions in fast growing niche markets, such as acid and caustic recovery through salt splitting.
De Nora can supply two sizes of electrolyzer, with different cell electrodes effective areas, enabling flexible cell stack design, from compact units to large industrial capacity.
This new technology offers the potential to deliver substantial advantages also to many other industrial applications such as the recovery process of: Sodium (Na), Lithium (Li), Potassium (K), Tetramethylammonium (TMA), Nitrate (NO3), Sulfate (SO4) etc. through electrolysis.
De Nora can supply compact CECHLO® electrolyzer (two compartment cell or three compartment cell) for field pilot-scale and lab tests, where both approaches are technologically and economically feasible, should be further evaluation be required prior to scaling up to commercial size.
